Appointment Policy
It is important to us to have confirmation for all appointments. As a courtesy, my staff will attempt to contact you 1-2 days prior to your appointment for confirmation by a phone call. However, we do ask that parents assume responsibility for their child’s appointed time. We hope to serve you better by establishing the following guidelines:
- We must, at all times, have all current contact names and numbers.
- Patients may not be seen in the order they arrive due to their unique treatment needs.
- Broken appointments, short term cancellations (we require 48 hour notice), or failed appointments (no call, no show) without proper notification can be costly to us and unfair to other patients who could have benefited from your appointment. Please be aware that repeated broken or failed appointments or short term cancellations may be subjective to dismissal from the practice. If you are dismissed, a formal letter may follow.
- Late arrivals cause schedule delays for those patients who arrive promptly at their appointment time. Late arrivals will be worked into the schedule, if time allows, or reappointed to another day. Please try to make contact as soon as possible if you know you will be running late.
- During school months, late afternoon appointments are in high demand. Should you miss or “fail” an after school appointment, we reserve the right to request that you only be seen during our early afternoon hours for a period of time. If siblings miss appointments, they may have to be separated until appointment compliance is better achieved.
- There are occasional needs to change or revise our schedule due to a dental emergency of another patient, or due to illness of one our staff members or Dr. Ashcraft (since there is only one dentist). We may need to call patients with existing appointments to change their appointment time. Please be aware that if we must change your appointment time and are unable to reach you, we will try to accommodate you as soon as possible on the same day, however, we reserve the right to re-appoint as needed.
